On December 14th, I had the pleasure of attending the Navajo Transitional Energy Company (NTEC)’s award ceremony where $200,000 was donated to thirty-six community projects.
Sitting in a room full of beneficiaries was such an awe-inspiring experience. The desire to “build a better community” was so abundantly clear that I doubt anyone in that room walked away without a stronger sense of community and a feeling of being uplifted. This year’s projects included education and youth development, economic development, energy sustainability, and environmental stewardship. Michael Jackson, board president, and I were there representing Tres Rios Habitat for Humanity. Thanks to NTEC’s generous donation we are that much closer to building another Habitat home in San Juan County. We want to thank NTEC for supporting local projects that will have an impact now and in the future on the lives of people who are living in San Juan County. Your generosity is so greatly appreciated!
