A Brush with Kindness is a community-focused home preservation program through Tres Rios Habitat for Humanity. This initiative is designed to assist low-income homeowners who need essential exterior home improvements to maintain a safe and dignified living environment. Through the support of volunteers and donors, the program provides services such as:
Handicap ramp construction
Exterior house painting
Minor exterior home repairs
Yard cleanup and basic landscaping
The goal of A Brush with Kindness is to help families, seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities continue living safely in their homes while improving the overall appearance and stability of neighborhoods. By working together, we create stronger, healthier communities—one home at a time.
Habitat selects ABWK families based on income, need and willingness to partner.
A no-interest, affordable loan is made to the homeowner to cover the costs of the project.
Payments made by homeowners are placed in a revolving fund that goes back to help ABWK help others in need.
As of right now, we are only able to do EXTERIOR repairs.
After receiving applications, we review the basics to see if you qualify. Then a Habitat Field Crew Leader will go to your home to further evaluate your needs and calculate the costs of the project.
